NewsSophie Roman Haug: It was a good feeling to get back on the scoresheet
Sophie Roman Haug was pleased by getting back to scoring form with a double in Liverpool FC Women’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur at St Helens Stadium.
The Norwegian, who recently returned after a lengthy injury absence, opened the scoring for Amber Whiteley’s side on Sunday.
But a Rachael Laws own goal and close-range finish from Clare Hunt saw the visitors take a 2-1 lead into half-time.
Roman Haug, however, netted again early in the second period to earn her team a share of the spoils in the Barclays Women’s Super League.
Speaking post-match, the striker said: “I feel like we had some ups and downs during the game but it was good to get two goals.
“We wanted to get the win but we’ll take the point and keep working hard and go again next week.”

With just two games remaining, she is determined to finish the term strongly and help the Reds clinch a top-five finish in the WSL.
The No.10 continued: “I was out for a while with an injury, so it is good to be back. It was a good feeling to score two. It was fun. Being back and playing with these girls again is just really special.
“There are still things we need to work on as a team and we want to keep on improving. We’ll take the positives out of today and learn from the rest.
“The fans were brilliant again, they give us such an energy and we really appreciate them.”
Preparations now turn to the Merseyside derby showdown with Everton at Anfield this coming Sunday (12pm BST kick-off).
Having won against Manchester United in their most recent outing in front of the Kop, Roman Haug and her teammates are desperate to experience that winning feeling in L4 again.
She said: “A Merseyside derby is always special. We really want to win that and put on a good performance, especially at Anfield. That will be super-special.”
